Casual Transcription Coordinator

Epiq Systems, Inc.


The primary duty of the Transcript Coordinator (hereafter noted as TC) is to ensure transcript is accurately typed, finalised and delivered to clients in accordance with the production schedule. All TCs will form a team working closely together in conjunction with the Transcription Manager to allocate transcribers (typists) and manage the various jurisdictions for daily and delayed transcripts.

TCs will be required to cross-train for duties related to the management of every transcription jurisdiction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Transcription Manager and other TCs for jurisdiction assignment
  • Assist with transcriptionist selection for various jurisdictions as required

(liaising with other TCs and Transcription Manager)

  • Follow orders setup procedures for various jurisdictions
  • Create necessary directories prior to commencement of transcript assignments
  • Create heading pages for transcripts
  • Create labels for transcript distribution via email or hard copy
  • Provide transcribers with relevant job information
  • Merge transcripts
  • Audio check indistinct and inaudible notations in transcripts
  • Audio check transcripts created from poor audio or audio with poor speakers
  • Transcript delivery as required for hardcopies/email
  • Ad hoc transcription and/or monitoring as required
  • Provide transcript billing information to the Transcription Manager
  • Assist Transcription Manager with any duties necessary
  • Assist Resourcing Manager with collecting audio from various courts/clients

Minimum Education

High School Graduate

Minimum Experience

Six months to one year basic office administration employment

Above average people skills

Five day availability per week
