During your apprenticeship, you'll be employed by us, while completing on-the-job training with Shoalhaven City Council. We'll provide you with ongoing mentoring and support to help you achieve your career goals and unleash your true potential.

What you'll be doing…

You will complete a Certificate III Electronics & Communications over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer Shoalhaven City Council.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Carry out installation and maintenance of Shoalhaven City Council's communication equipment
  • Provide maintenance of equipment and/or services
  • Support staff in the day to day operations of the communication functions
  • Carrying out multiple security/communications projects


What you'll bring to the table…

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Ability to commence in January 2020
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to on and off the job training
  • Ability to maintain high standards of work
  • Ability to demonstrate customer service values
  • Manual Drivers Licence – P1 or above (Required to drive council vehicles)
  • WHS Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Demonstrated interest in chosen field
